One of the most popular instruments in the world, easy to learn the basics, challenging to master. Drums provide the rhythmic background for pop and rock songs, are an essential part of the orchestra, and in military and brass bands.
Good coordination is essential for learning drums, and it's very physical too, needing strength and stamina. For these reasons, we'd generally recommend starting drums from around age 7/8 upwards.
A full acoustic drum kit can be expensive, but electronic pads are a good alternative, cheaper and practical in terms of size and noise levels - electronic pads can be played with headphones. Generally we'd recommend taking drum lessons at the teacher's studio to experience an acoustic kit, and we can find a teacher at a convenient location for you.
